Mary is a freelance editor and writer, with a background in biological research and science education. She is currently on the ACT Disability Advisory Council and the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Limited ACT Advisory Board, and has previously been on a number of committees/boards, including Lake Ginninderra College Board from 2008–2011. She is particularly interested in disability matters, preventative health care and helping to build strong communities. Mary was named 2012 ACT Volunteer of the Year for her service to people with MS.
Professor Gabrielle Cooper

Professor of Pharmacy in the Faculty of Health at the University of Canberra having established the Discipline of Pharmacy in 2004. Gabrielle has had extensive national and international experience in hospital pharmacy and her research interests include clinical toxicology, pharmacist and technician education, dementia care and communication between health care setting and providers. She is a member of the ACT Clinical Senate, the National Board of the PSA and a range of other professional committees with a focus on optimal medication management and improved communication between consumers and care providers.

Kirsty is Associate Professor of Clinical Education at the ANU Medical School and Acting Senior Medical Officer at Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service. Kirsty's academic experience includes Health Services research at the Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute, curriculum development and teaching at the ANU Medical School and management roles in both institutes. She is a member of the Department of Health and Ageing's Medical Service Advisory Committee. As a clinician Kirsty worked for 12 years in private GP in Canberra prior to joining Winnunga in 1997. She is passionate about the social determinants of health, the role of primary care and general practice in helping to address health inequalities and her four kids.
Ms Gayle Ginnane

Gayle has considerable experience as an independent director on a number of Boards, both commercial and not for profit, in the voluntary, government and private sectors. Gayle was CEO of the Private Health Insurance Administration Council (PHIAC) until May 2008 and has broad experience as a senior manager in an insurance and regulatory environment, and an in depth understanding of governance, risk management and finance. Gayle has also contributed to a number of voluntary organisations at senior and Board levels including Scouts ACT, Institute of Public Administration ACT Branch, the Arthur Shakespeare Foundation and the Community Living Project.

Dr Jeff Harmer AO (Dr Harmer’s appointment is expected to commence on 1 June 2013)
Dr Harmer has an impressive background. He was Secretary of the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) and the Department of Education, Science and Training, as well as Managing Director of the Health Insurance Commission, now Medicare Australia. Dr Harmer has a PhD in Economic Geography. He was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia for his significant achievements in his public service career. More recently, he has been a member of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Advisory Committee and Deputy Chair of the Social Inclusion Board.
