ACT Medicare Local is partnering with Calvary Health Care ACT to deliver Calvary eHealth, an eHealth records system for residents of the ACT and southern NSW.
It is part of the Australian Government’s $465 million investment to create a national personally controlled electronic records system to streamline patient care. Calvary is one of 12 sites across Australia testing elements for the national system and has recently commenced enrolling consumers.
Calvary eHealth will allow GPs to populate data in to their patient’s eHealth record from the GPs existing practice software and receive electronic discharge summaries and send electronic referrals. Within the second quarter of 2012 additional functionality will be provided including receiving event summaries and shared care plans.
As part of the eHealth readiness program Calvary is now offering practices the opportunity to receive discharge summaries electronically, rather than via fax. More information on this can be found here.
