Clinical Audit Tools

Medical software programs used in general practice contain clinical data on a patient by patient basis. However, retrieval and analysis of data for entire patient populations for systematic management of patients is difficult.

ACT Medicare Local supports local general practices by providing tools which can analyse the practice clinical database and present the information in an easy to view and manipulate graphical interface. It allows analyse of both patient care and accuracy of data recorded within the practice’s clinical database.

The PCS Clinical Audit System (CAS) is a software tool that operates in collaboration with the GP Clinical Desktop System (Medical Director 2 and 3, Genie, Zedmed and Best Practice) to present meaningful clinical information. The Clinical Audit tool can assist practice staff to assess the quality and completeness of patient information and practice population information. This information can be used to identify management strategies for target patient groups that can lead to improved health outcomes.

The Canning Data Extraction tool is capable of extracting data from a variety of the most commonly used GP desktop software (Medical Director 2, Medical Director 3, MedTech32, Best Practice, Medical Spectrum Classic, and PractiX) with more to follow.

If you would like to view a demonstration of these tools please do not hesitate to contact Lona at l.rethman@actml.com.au.
